2026 Priority Issues

Opening the not-for-profit Center for Mental Health & Recovery

Creating more affordable housing in Miami-Dade County

Center for Mental Health & Recovery

The Center for Mental Health & Recovery will provide wrap-around services (mental healthcare, dental care, job training, transitional housing, etc.) for the most in need in our County. The Center already has three years of funding secured. It needs to start operating because people struggling with severe mental illness need help now.

Workforce Housing

Currently, Miami-Dade's "Workforce Housing" program uses public funding to help build units for Miami-Dade's workforce. However, the program currently is open to people making up to $122,000/year. We know the majority of Miami-Dade's workforce doesn't even make half of that. We're asking County Commissioners to work with the County Housing & Community Development Department to start calculating the eligibility for these units by looking at how much people in the neighborhood of the planned development are making. This will decrease gentrification and displacement. We need this solution now as more and more Miami-Dade residents are being forced to move out of their community due to unaffordability.

Nehemiah Action

We will be getting some public officials' commitments to these solutions at our Nehemiah Action Assembly on Monday, April 13th at 7pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. However, the County Commissioners listed below have not confirmed their attendance.

Please reach out to their offices to urge them to implement these overdue solutions now:
